ARMDS is surrounded by several interior villages and majority of the people here are Daily waged earners. As the vast lands depend on rain, a rare reality, several lakhs of cultivable lands lose their fertility. Eventually there is a vast gap existing between the haves and have-nots. The ongoing programs in the campus of ARMDS facilitate bridging this gap. They are empowered with some skills to sustain. Migration to Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai is quite an inevitable phenomenon. For survival people work in quarries and hotels.
